I’m an expert in: nothing (Her team this says this untrue and that she is an incredible writer.
She can also provide a killer tour of Houston restaurants.)
I want to improve at: everything
Currently Located in: Houston, Texas (but strategizing to move to Park Hill in Denver during Houston summers).
Previously Lived: Sacramento, Berkeley, and Los Angeles, CA; Washington DC
Favorite Movies and TV Shows:
Movies: Mean Girls, The Godfather Parts I and II (a Thanksgiving day ritual)
TV: The Great, Battlestar Galactica (the 2004-2009 reboot), Friday Night Lights, Gossip Girl
Favorite Books: now - Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari; then - Consider the Lobster by David Foster Wallace
Deep Ambition: writing, I think; meaningfully connecting with people, definitely
Theme song of 2021: currently searching for a theme song and taking recommendations...
Something you should know about me: I have a phobia of bananas. We don’t need to talk about it.
My family would say I’m good at: being their leader
I wish I made more time for: playing with my kids
I like to workout through: yoga and neighborhood walks while listening to podcasts
It’s important you know: I’m currently producing a newsletter to test out my writing ambition. If you would like to be interviewed or profiled, let me know. The newsletter structure is pretty free-form at the moment, but I would like to do it for a year and come out with a portfolio of articles on a variety of subjects. If you want something written about you that could be shopped around to different platforms, I’m open to that.
You might not know: that you can ask me anything. Also, I find it pretty difficult to fill out surveys like this with information about myself.
I’ve recently discovered: Project Row Houses (projectrowhouses.org), an amazing organization in Houston that I’m planning to dedicate time and resources to going forward.
When I get to Miami, I will: play tennis and golf with anyone who is interested.

Love this, Emily. When we next connect, I'd love to hear about your favorite podcasts!
